Atang Tshikare is a self-developed multidisciplinary creative who creates with wood, glass, resin, ceramic and bronze, combining contemporary illustrations, sculptures, and narratives.
Atang Tshikare is dictating a new pulse for limited-edition African design with his Afrofuturistic identity using a primal future as a source of direction. His creations are a galaxy of objects with vibrant texture that extend between natural and man-made materials. In 2010 he founded Zabalazaa Designs for retail-based products and services. Zabalazaa has created art and design work for companies including adidas Originals, MTV base, Cotton On, Nandos, MrPriceHome to name a few. As Atang he has been exhibited at Design Indaba, Southern Guild, 100% SA, Austria, Germany, New York, Design Days Dubai, Design Miami. His work has been featured in South African and international media. He has made presentations, been a judge, and mentored at institutes like Dezeen, Design Indaba, Elle Decór, University of Johannesburg.
